Dear all,
I just want to say how cool titiler and rio-cogeo are. These two projects in combination are totally awesome. Thanks a lot!

I have struggled so much to create xyz Tile Layers and serve them in the web.

My journey:

• gdal2tiles.py: It took me a long time to press my numpy array of data into this function to create accurate tile layers. Unfortunately the performance of that pipeline was really bad because gdal2tiles is very slow. So I decided to implement my own tile creation.
• TileServer (geoServer): At least all other offers for webmap server did not fit to my needs because they are slow or very complex and not handy to use with a simple numpy array of data.
• Solution: Creating tile layer with matplotlib and store them on ubuntu web server. Not really state of the art but it worked for me.

My requirements: Plotting data of several tile layers within 15-20 seconds. And doing this every 5 minutes for a new layer of weather radar data.

Unfortunately I have started one and a half year ago and such a cool framework was not available.
