Help wanted: distribution packages #1986

I'm on it for Devuan (but should be applicable for Debian, too). |
Hi @suyanhanx, @metux I'm curious if there is any update on deb packaging. I found this bug which is from feb2023, so it looks like there is no new trace of someone working on this since then. Can someone elaborate on the (build) dependency issues? I'm not that proficient in debian packaging, but I'm eager to learn about what makes this hard (and what potential solutions might be). |
any chance this will be supported soon? |
cc @siretart (We talked at KubeCon) Please let us know if there is anything we can to help adopting nerdctl in Debian 🙇 |
@AkihiroSuda apparently this was discussed before at https://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=1030928 -- I'll keep looking into it. |
quick status updated: nerdctl seems to have a hard dependency on nydus-snapshotter, which is currently under review for inclusion into Debian. Once that has passed and is accepted, and I haven't overlooked other dependencies, then I can proceed with nerdctl. I'll keep the linked bug updated with missing dependencies as I find them. |
Help wanted to make nerdctl available on apt-get, dnf, etc.
