Right now it is impossible to see what has been edited. New objects haven't had time to appear on a map, and the geometry is not shown. But changeset comments usually are informative, and seeing "added a house" is much better than "someone did change something in this general area".
So, please add displaying a changeset comment in the changeset information window.

The only problem is that changeset comments (or created_by) are not included in the diff files we are using.
It required a request to the API to get these info. It is already coded, but disabled by default to avoid too many requests on the API.
While mindful of technical limitations (and that hammering the API would be bad), to add to the OP's rationale: any good changeset comment will, besides describing what was changed, also indicate why it was changed.
