First of all, the original idea is definitely cool 🤣

I am thinking of generalizing the idea to "I'm feeling lucky about something!", where something is the area of your interest, say database or web frontend.

We could use some method to categorize all the GitHub repos (hopefully some sort of API) and return a good first issue in the category of interest to the user.

For a quick glance, it seems a complex idea:

• We should know users' interest (via query? persist in db?)
• We should fetch and cache GitHub repos' good first issue (Will https://ossinsight.io/ help?)
• Github API limitation (we need to query by repo or via search API which is low quota for rate limit)

For the simpler version, how about:

• https://lucky.io/github/rust-lang => pick up one good first issue in rust-lang orgs
• https://lucky.io/github/rust-lang/rust => puck up one good first issue in rust repo

That, we can enhance it via:

• https://lucky.io/database => pick up one good first issue in database repos (maybe a preset?)
• https://lucky.io/storage => (ditto)

Oh, I see. I had a picture of UI in my mind when coming up with this idea.
If UI is not an option, then it may be less attractive.
