Can I create a "read more" link that points to a specific part of a blog post? #1017
-
I display the intro text of a blog post and the link to read more on my blog homepage. If I click on the link, the post is displayed in single view. This works great, but when you view it, it scrolls all the way back up and you can't see where you stopped reading the intro. It would be nicer if the new view were opened in the same window position. Is something like this possible? |

Wow, how long are actually your summaries? 😮 I would try using an anchor and then specifying it as the target for the read more link in the blogstart layout. Here is a Markdown example:
This uses a custom div element with the full-content ID as special markdown option, but you could also use a heading.
You can then attach it to the read more link in the blogstart layout:
Hope this helps 🙂 |

Yes you can, but there are alternatives. You can change the text from You can give users a visual cue between the beginning of the page and the rest of the page. For example with a new paragraph, with a horizontal line, with a beautiful image or a custom CSS class for the content summary. It depends very much on the visual style of your blog. If you want to make it look minimalistic then put the beginning of the page in one paragraph, if you want to make it look stylish then use a custom font colour/size for the content summary. In any case, do what you think is best. |

Thank you for your comments. Maybe I'm actually being a bit overzealous here. I'll think about a visual design. For example, for me the pictures (if any) always come after the -more-. Maybe that's a good visual anchor. |
