OpenLock 1.0 vs 2.0 links clarification in Basic Set #8
Comments
I'm in the basic guide. I chose cut stone - floors link and printed from there. Looking now, I see dungeon stone - floors link is different, it seems to have models for the expected style of bases. Recommendation to swap bases? |
So I chose the Basic Set - Cut Stone to start with. I chose to print only the cut stone floors to begin with, as I figured this would be quickest way to get usable. The bases are as pictured above, which I think must be 1.0 instead of 2.0, though the Thingiverse states 2.0. Looking at the Basic Set - Dungeon Stone, the Dungeon Stone - Floors - Bases seems to be the correct 2.0 style. There is a plethora of options, from magnet only to lots of slots. So 2 questions:
|
On the upside, I've printed 11 tiles of 2x2, 3x3 & 4x4. It is becoming obvious to me that there is an enormous amount of potential with these tiles. |
I'm interested in clarification as well. I'm rather confused because the cut stone magnetic bases appear to be an updated version without any of the clip locks. I drew that conclusion based on the fact that they require less filament than the dungeon stone set bases and have additional spacing for glue run off. It would be great if there was a version of the cut stone bases for the dungeon stone bases. |
TLDR: Jump to the pic and the comments below, much more descriptive with links, etc.
So I took the basic tutorial set & just kicked a print for the 3x3 and 4x4 bases. Want to get two small rooms right away, then work on the rest.
While printing, I just noticed, the bases have little holes in the sides, rather than the open-lock style clip hole.
Possible to explain this? I don't know that I know what to do with that clip style (though I do know it still supports the magnets, which is great).
Thanks!
