Purpose:

A marketplace for buying and selling digital advertising.

Description:

Anyone who owns digital real estate - websites, digital billboards, mobile apps - can offer that space for bidding. Ad buyers bid on that space with ether.

Users will:

• sellers will post the ad space they have available
• sellers will include a link to their website, an image of the available space, and ad requirements (dimensions, file types)
• sellers will indicate the length of time the ad will run, or the number of total impressions being purchased
• sellers can specify a minimum bid price if desired
• sellers must specify an auction expiry time - this is the date/time that the ad will go into effect
• buyers will upload their desired ad content and place their bid in ether
• the buyer with the highest bid will have their ad go live when at the auction expiry time
• buyers can bid in bulk where all winning bids are sold in a single transaction to reduce gas fees
• the wallpaper app takes a 1% cut of all sales to support additional development
  sellers stake DNT as collateral to prove they will uphold their side of the contract
• If a seller fails to host the ad, they will lose part or all of their staked DNT
• all sellers who have a DNT stake can vote on features, changes and new rules
• any user can also stake DNT, vote on rules and features, and earn a share of the profits from their stake

Business case:
Advertising is the sole source of revenue for most of the internet. Companies that sell digital ad space are worth billions of dollars. But they also have very high fees, are highly centralized and don't allow users much or any stake in the rules or features being offered. Wallpaper is intended as a more transparent advertising marketplace where buyers and sellers have a stake in the control and development of the exchange. It is a democratic, low fee marketplace where all stakeholders can have a voice in development and take a share of the profits.

Love this idea. Traditional online advertising is going to be severely disrupted by web 3 solutions/cryptos. Building a marketplace for these makes sense.
