Special chars not handled properly

Hello. On hungarian keyboard special chars like é, ő, ö. á, ű, ú are rendered as two chars instead of one, like it's converted back to ASCII instead of UTF.

Example: when I type the char é it gets drawn as ©Â

I Tried to debug it, but honestly I have no Idea where to look for the cause of this isse
