Short Textual Description
This project studies a property taxpayer education campaign in Ablekuma Central in the Greater Accra Region, Ghana through a randomized controlled trial. The intervention will educate taxpayers and tax collectors about the process of property tax collection as well as the rights and responsibilities of taxpayers. We study how this affects taxpayer knowledge, tax morale, and tax compliance. We also study how education affects these interactions between citizens and frontline bureaucrats.
Why We Collect
The data collected during the program will be used to study how tax collectors interact with citizens e.g. where they choose to travel to meet taxpayers, how often and who they meet, and what modes of transportation they use to get there.
