Wrong uploads overwrite all original data

Hi, I am using macOS with version 10.15.4.

I was trying to upload images on eXide for a Tei-publisher project. Following the instruction for "Directory Uploads" from the documentation , I tried with Use File > Manage > Upload Files. After selecting several files I chose, the whole /db/ was empty. I think I might have overwritten all original data. Strangely I could not even see those pictures I uploaded. Anyway, since the whole /db/ directory was overwritten, even the html file for the dashboard is gone. I lost all the data I have worked. Now I am trying to re-install eXist-db entirely.

I suggest there should be a feature to avoid this from happening.
