In addition to the README and guide, we can add a prominent link to a "Directory" or "Galactic Starting Point". This should be maintained by the Education Ring.

That's why I'm thinking maybe supplement it with a "directory" of hyperlinks leading people to resources - @ethhub_io, eth.research, maybe even Etherean forums for the more social side discussions. And heck, some inviting artwork couldn't hurt!

This can start with a simple standalone web page featuring some art work, explanations of what the Magicians are about, and links to the key things in the ecosystem.

Not sure where the link to this page should go yet, but the button should invite clicking. Here is the current README content: https://ethereum-magicians.org/t/welcome-please-readme-first/8 . This currently appears as a link at the top of the list for anyone new to the Forum.

I really don't think adding more things that need to get maintained externally is a good idea. One simple idea would be to have a branch in this repo (or the root repo, since it's not used for anything) for this.

I think even the wiki is stale here. I have a half started project to have the content be in Github and then be shown like the Ethereum wiki https://en.ethereum.wiki

I do think we should encourage people to post more images and that we should have links to images of humans from events (for those that are OK with pictures online).

The New Members forum I proposed in the other issue could have the same kind of README or wiki pinned. I totally understand your desire for more "style" -- but the whole forum can do with more style if we can get the theme checked in and maybe some bounty money from our wallet?

(sorry this ended up being a late night lots of ideas comment post)

I second Boris' suggestion about using the scrolls repo for the "website", there's not much here so it would be easy. I don't want to interfere too much with @chiselinc 's decisions on it tho, but will help with the infra if needed.

To fully lay out how we could use "scrolls", we can keep the html and images here in this repo, served using GH pages, and then we'll integrate the website with the Forum.

@chiselinc, when you're ready, let me know if you intend to create a static website, or if the website is going to be generated using or Gatsby or Jekyll.

Also, here are two recent issues relating to possible content which would help others learning about the community and Magicians:

Configuring mail list mode for the Forum: #1 (comment)

Ring kit, probably can just start with a brief blurb in the website: #39
