All releases from v2.6.8 and up to v2.7b1 display it's version number as "2.6" in Help\About dialog and <program-used> element of edited or created files.
Earlier full 3-part version number was used - "2.6.7" etc.
Intended change or bug?

Yes, thanks. It is better to show full version there.
