I find the --group-directories-first to be quite useful, so I use it a lot.

However, having to type the whole option name (if auto-completion not installed/updated for eza) is very tiresome.

Of course I can create a custom alias but that is less practical.

I propose adding a short(er) alternative.

  • Single letter: (any currently unassigned letter)
  • Shorter long option: --gdf

How is that less practical? This is the way to go normally 🤔

I don't think we'll introduce --long flags that aren't full words, and single letter flags are sacred and not to be wasted unless absolutely nescesarry.

Thus, I think the best way to move this forward is to create a suggestion for a long flag that simply is more succint, like directories-first dirs-first etc. (I don't actually like either of my own suggestions, more just to give an example of how this could be alleviated)
