It seems that the wrong encoder is being loaded in the nn-vietnamese-bwd.ipynb notebook ("Classifier" section):

I think the backwards encoder should be loaded here, changing the line to: learn_c.load_encoder(f'{lang}fine_tuned_enc_bwd')
