Can I use data based checks

Any feature we add we have to decide if we support old browsers or not. This limits us from adding browser specific features. If authors want stuff maybe we allow more features but use can I use data to warn the author that stuff they are using may not be supported in all browsed and let author decide if they are ok with it or not.
