Description:

The yellow update tooltip in the PWAsForFirefox menu says "The extension is outdated! Please update it!", but the extension itself is up to date. The mentioned update is pointed at the native connector and not the extension.

The mentioned yellow tooltip is located in the PWAsForFirefox menu as depicted in the first screenshot.

Expected results:

Make the yellow update tooltip use the label "The native connector is outdated! Please update it!" when the version of the native connector is outdated.

Additional Information:

Screenshot of the mentioned misleading yellow tooltip:

This is my version of the native connector at the time when the yellow tooltip was showing:

Affected Websites:

Not applicable

Environment:

  • Operating system: Windows 10 19045.4894
  • System architecture: 64-bit
  • Firefox architecture: 64-bit
  • Installation method: MSI
  • PWAsForFirefox extension version: 2.12.5
  • PWAsForFirefox native version: 2.12.4
  • PWAsForFirefox runtime version: 130.0.1
  • Firefox version: 131.0.0

NOTE: I added the separate Firefox architecture section because software and CPU can have different architectures.
