transcoding is super useful for copying to devices. I use it for copying to my USBs for playing on CDJs and the like, and not all of them support FLAC so I'd like to be able to copy as MP3.
copying as WAVs unfortunately is not an option as they don't keep tags properly.
MP3 patents have expired so there should be no legal issue
