The original CTD2 requirements for the search functionality specified that search results should be presented in three sections: subjects, submissions, and observations. For the HIPC Dashboard, we should replace the submission section with a studies section. Matching will be done as described in the CTD2 specification, but matching instead against the study description text. Studies matching the query terms should be presented under a section with heading “Study descriptions matching any search term”, organized into a table with 5 columns: the first column has not heading and just contains the folder icon we use for studies (as is done now) while the remaining 4 columns are exactly the same as those used in the STUDIES page of the dashboard, i.e., “Description”, “PMID”, “Publication Date”, and “Number of Signatures”. Studies will be listed in the table ordered according to the number of search terms matched (with studies matching most terms appearing first), breaking ties based on total number of submissions (studies with most submissions listed first). The contents of the table will be hyperlinked as is currently done in the table that appears under the STUDIES page.
