The NetIDE protocol should be able to give the core the complete topology or list give a liste of all connected switches with dpids. Also events for switches/links connecting/disconnecting are needed to keep the core in sync

The message type is already foreseen in the upcoming protocol specification v1.2. What is not defined is: (i) how the topology info is passed to the Core (xml file, list, dictionary. Each server controller has its own format), (ii) which topology details and events are needed by the Core, (iii) the interaction between Core and Shim (asynchronous, synchronous, both).
