User Experience Design thinking: Ideas of potential features #323
Comments
@madaleneaza-design there were a number of post-MVP ideas shared in a list format on #84 Since the folks here are focused on a more narrow set of MVP features, could you use these earlier ideas and curate them into the boards as a way to ensure these earlier suggestions aren't lost, but also exist where they can be viewed and interacted with one the MVP is live? |
@allella Sure, I will check them out soon and start inserting these ideas onto the board. 🙂 |
I was thinking it would be cool if you could filter by events your friends are going to. 🤔 Looking forward to seeing the final project! |
Recording this here for post-MVP ideas / conversations. I could see an opt-out of all things also getting confusing to the user if not done correctly, so this would need more conversation. |
We can update homepage to reflect the intention of chapter better. It can be something like this, a card that carry chapter name and its type, logo of the chapter on the right side, events below chapter logo related to said chapter, and tags hinting where are the events and what they for. Here is Figma of the idea https://www.figma.com/file/uNjf9xll6bKKq4n1SCmFFb/Untitled?node-id=3%3A5 after finding this https://www.figma.com/proto/q7DikyL3N0c4CUWxHNa97i/Chapter-Prototype?node-id=1%3A2&scaling=scale-down , I feel silly but at least I can start working on it |
@Sboonny we had another mockup listed in the README, which is no longer rendering. I asked the creator if it can be restored, or a copy exported. What are the blue boxes in your sketch? The Figma you linked to was the first one by @vkWeb and was a visitor's view. If I remember correctly, the more recent mockup from @megajon was similar in many ways, and included more "logged in" user and organizer / admin views. You may know this, but the visitor Figma mockup has a Chapters view examples. Plus, you can click on certain elements, scroll, and such to see more. I mention this because it wasn't immediately obvious to me the first time I saw it. I don't believe we're adding the search or filtering for the MVP, but this still looks like a reasonable MVP target and is better than the current Chapters page view |
These were the Event associated with organizer's chapter, but because they won't have enough information to describe what they were, I am planning to switch them to a description about organizer's chapter.
I did, but that doesn't matter, if you think something will be beneficial for me, I am thankful for bringing it to my attention
I will start the work👍 |
We can add a newsletter to a chapter, something like Quincy weekly emails. So the owner and maybe administrator can send weekly emails updating newsletter followers about what is new, without them needing to attend a weekly event |
Organizers and instance owner will want to share EventPage, and ChapterPage in the home section, so people can join their events/chapters. We can add meta tags in these pages, something a like: random note, GitHub has meta tag with |
In one stage of the UX design typical workflow, the team (including other stakeholders) usually get together to discuss questions and ideas on by placing post-its and drawings on the whiteboard.
As we are a remote team, I thought of creating these ‘digital whiteboards’ to get together everyone in the Chapter project to open up any questions and ideas that you all have. While I am aware we already have issues and user stories for this, I like to this having a digital whiteboard would be beneficial based on:
How this works
If you have any ideas or questions to add to the board, write it in the comment, and I shall update the board with your ideas/questions on the post-it. Remember that there is no right or wrong, so please post them!
This is the place for you to add your ideas of features to add to Chapter, whether that could take place as a current MVP or post-MVP. I have added one subsection on the top left corner, these are potential features that I have found through the document - Vision, written by Quincy. I did not add them all as I think you all should have an opportunity to find some yourselves 🙂
