Config flow could not be loaded: {"message":"Invalid handler specified"} #37

I am trying to get the Balboa Spa integration to work, I have tried the integration that is shipped with Home Assistant but that only produces 4 sensors and is otherwise useless. Apparently a known issue https://github.com/home-assistant/core/issues/79391 the BWA integration, isn’t finished… that’s helpful… NOT! If its not finished… why is it published?

Anyway, I followed the instructions and installed the HACS version. I have installed version 0.6.1 and wouldn’t you know it… it also doesn’t work. I am getting the error “Config flow could not be loaded: {"message":"Invalid handler specified"}” I have tried to install older versions of the integration from HACS, but it always installed the same version (0.6.1)
I’m using Home Assistant OS, version 2023.3.3, Supervisor 2023.03.1, Operating System 9.5, Frontend 20230309.0 - latest

Hi, just received the same error. Any chance that this can be solved with the creators? :) I know this is your voluntary time, but would be interested in paying for fix also:)

another one with the issue, i guess we'll need to revert to the original integration (although i then have no access to the lights/pumps)

I still have this integration (not core) running on 2023.11.1 using this fix and lights, pumps everything still function.

I'm not familiar with the "not core" stuff you mentioned here. I tried the hacs version first. Modified the two files in the chat. The client loaded asking for host and name. The IP was entered, but there is a timeout for me. Same happened when I tried the one that is not hacs.

I am not 100% sure that i have the correct wifi module. The one I have turns up as Balboa on my Wifi Router, but that's all i know. It's a Sundance jacuzzi and so far I still need to use the Sundance app (and it's useless). :) Mostly i only need it for temperature changes. Other than that I don't need the lights etc.

Not core meaning not the built in core integration for Balboa.

https://www.home-assistant.io/integrations/balboa/

If all you need is the spa temperature, just use the core integration, it supports temperature control. The only reason I still use the HACS version is the pump and light switches are not supported by the core version (yet).

The HACS version has not been updated since the core integration was released. I believe the same dev @garbled1 is responsible for both. My hunch it is or will be deprecated.
