@escasinas I'm sorry that you're having an issue here. As you note, there was no "official" GO public release on that date. However, there are non-archived versions of the ontology built on a rolling basis. As well, a resource could also build the ontology themselves on a particular date and use that as a stamp in their pipeline. To clarify what was done in this case, it may be worthwhile to contact the resource and see what they used. That said, for any given date, one can check the ontology out from GitHub (and build various products yourself if you desire). For example, to get the ontology at a particular moment in time, one could do something like:
On the CLI, like:
(The 13th is the closest commit to the 15th. Also, this might take a little while to download and resolve deltas like this, but you get the idea). |

I downloaded gene annotations (.gaf) for some organisms such as E. coli. The file specifies that the GO version used was released on 2024-12-15:
!GO-version: http://purl.obolibrary.org/obo/go/releases/2024-12-15/extensions/go-plus.owl
Is this version missing? The link above does not exist and 2024-12-15 is not in the Gene Ontology Data Archive (https://release.geneontology.org/)
