As was reported in our Forum and also got mentioned by this Solus 4.7 video review, there is some kind of theming issue with Caja.
Caja is only installed as dependency of engrampa, not as default file browser. Still, it is a source of confusion to have two file browsers installed. Moreover since there is an issue with Caja:

I never installed Caja, yet it sits in my applications menu. When I open it, it presents as a file manager
with the wrong colour scheme. Folders are blue on a black background which renders the folder name
invisible. (Unreadable).

Possible solutions:

  1. tackle the theming issue
  2. replace engrampa with xarchiver as proposed by EbonJaeger (see Forum thread)
  3. might a quick fix be to remove caja desktop file?
