Pre-release snapshots of 3.0 are not downloadable. #6
Comments
Can you clarify which versions <3.0 are not downloadable exactly? I see that there are issues with 3.0-alpha/beta pre-releases but there's no problem (that I found) with e.g. 2.1.6. |
This would be a bug with the website logic that maps binaries/targets to each release automatically.
Nevermind, I checked further and saw the extent of the problem. It seems like we lost those pre-release snapshots for 3.0 and 3.0.1, which are not on the original mirror https://downloads.tuxfamily.org/godotengine/ So they couldn't be mirrored again on GitHub either. We should probably update the website logic to remove all downloads from those, or outright remove the pre-releases from the configuration so that pages don't get generated for them. The reason why those pre-releases are missing is simply that I deleted them a few years after 3.0-stable was released to free some space on the TuxFamily repo, as I figured we'd never need them anymore. |
I am so sorry. I checked again now and all versions can be downloaded just fine.. (Unless you already fixed the problem?) You're right, the only remaining issue (for this repo, at least) is lack of pre-releases for 3.0/3.0.1. Can they theoretically be recompiled and uploaded here again? I will be glad to help.
Given this is a version archive, i think pre-releases have a place to be. However, i also personally have no problem with removing "forever lost" versions. |
See https://godotengine.org/download/archive/
Additionally, versions <3.5 but >= 3.0-alpha1 misleadingly have an android download option, even though these versions cannot be built for android. Where should i report that?
