Selected item cannot be toggle with consecutive taps

When using the multi selection model we have the behaviour that an item's selected status toggles with consecutive taps.

This is not the case the for non-multi selection model however. I would like to tap an item to select, and then to tap that item again to have it become deselected. For the time being I'm having to workaround generating additional events and have event handling.

Is this a bug or intended? I see the same in 0.5.4
