We want to further automate releases, ideally into a 1-click GH workflow run where all you provide is the release tag string and maybe a commit sha.

We may need to address the release notes, but this can be done with a one release-note-per-file approach that many other projects use.

Use case

Release faster, less toil, more frequent releases.
