Perhaps a better approach worth exploring, to replace the current one where Authorino is used "to issue OAuth access tokens and to provide the user permissions" while "pretending to be 'Keycloak Authorization Service API'", could come from exploring Envoy Kafka filter.
Authentication and authorisation could be disabled in Strimzi altogether, leaving it entirely for Envoy and Authorino, granted the HTTP level external authorization filter will play together with the Kafka one.
