Please can you provide an option in the Settings dialog that can be used to specify a command to be run when the user clicks on the tray icon, instead of Hiding/Showing the Thunderbird window?
Example
I leave Thunderbird running in one workspace while I interact with various other applications in other workspaces. I would find it very useful that, when I see on the tray icon that there are one or more unread messages, I could just click on the icon to switch to Thunderbird.
I would use the new option to run the linux command wmctrl -a thunderbird
That command will cause the desktop environment to switch to the workspace in which Thunderbird is currently running.
