issue also raised here:
http://hub.qgis.org/issues/11521
from mescal72
step to replicate:

  1. create a memory layer with EasyCustomLabeling
  2. move some labels
  3. install Memory Layer Saver
  4. save project
  5. close and reopen it
  6. try to move some other label

all works fine except lines that connect objects with labels. If you move a label the line now don't moving with it.

Reproduced on qgis 2.6.1. Project Load signals must be in cause... Mem Layer saver can also be a reason (I remember patching it)

I have this issue on QGIS 3.2. I can move labels around. I can't reconnect labels to lines and it won't create new lines for existing points that I did not move in the first place.

@sarahsobasic thanks for reporting. QGIS 3.x allows to simply use styles with geometry generators. I should release a dedicated version but I really lack time - and secretly hoped that my previous employer would fund the C++ port of this old and ugly piece of code.
@xcaeag any hope to get rid of that plugin? We only miss now a simple shortcut to apply a labeling style to any layer.
