DnD issues on a board

Hi, I'm putting together something similar to the board example, with columns that can be rearranged and cards that can move within a column and to another column.

I followed the board example very closely, and it's mostly working, except when I try to drag a card down on the same column, I can only place it at the bottom. That's the only place the placeholder is displayed. Dragging up on the same column is fine and so is dragging a card to a different column is working.

I can put together a demo if needed. Just wondering if there's a quick fix or some pointers as to where I should look.
