One idea @rspuzio and I discussed on the phone would be to make a private "Ariadne's Thread" collection for each user that would show everything that they had looked at. One of the subjects in the "beta test" study thought that the full "thread" would be too much detail, and suggested something more like Drupal's existing "breadcrumbs".
