Model Name: iPad 10.9-inch (10th generation)
Software Version: iPad OS 18.2
App version: Home Assistant Companion 2024.12.2 (2024.1058)
Home Assistant Core Version
Home Assistant 2024.12.1
Describe the bug
Please use the provided video for reference. When opening the Home Assistant app, it immediately refuses to use its existing auth token despite there being no changes in Home Assistant. The app appears to wait 0 seconds and retries continuously, forever. This on its own isn't that terrible, however, the app completely hijacks the ipad and makes it unusable. The app jumps up and down, refuses to allow itself to be minimized, refuses to close, refuses to allow task switcher to work. Uninstalling the app AND deleting ALL DATA did not change this behavior (which sort of makes sense if the issue was an auth issue).
The ONLY WAY i could work around this was to open the app while connected to wifi, same local network where home assistant lives, go to the page that lets you manually add a home assistant server, open the username/password box, DISCONNECT WIFI (at this point the app stops misbehaving and I can actually interact with the app in a sane way) and use my password manager to fill in the username/password, RECONNECT WIFI, let the app misbehave again, click the login.

To Reproduce
Unclear what led to this. No changes made to home assistant. The only thing that may be relevant is that I was away from home and traveling for a week and a half and the iPad was connected to various wifi networks with no routable access to home assistant.
Expected behavior
App does not make the host device unusable
Screenshots
