Add social media share mechanism button to share the task and stats #940
Comments
Another great idea @fredychandra |
Hi, as a user of the task manager I also think that it could be useful. To provide a bit more technical background, it seems that linking tabs based on HTML anchors does not work with boostrap as per twbs/bootstrap#2415 which mentions a workaround. This would need to be addressed before adding buttons if the goal is to share the stats. Looking at the layout of the page it may make more sense to add social buttons above the graph if they link to the stats page and be only visible when the tab is selected. I would be in favour of the most lightweight implementation possible of such buttons (no javascript, no images, no tracking...). http://sharingbuttons.io/ seems to be a good approach. I would rather not have social buttons otherwise. |
#363 and #356 also exist for aspects of this |
I have seen project sharing on media social platform exist, It is working. However, I think some text needs to be added to lead the contributors to realize and to understand how they can share their project through the media social button. E.g : _Share this / Share to your network... etc. See image below on the yellow mark. Last, I think the button can be put at the top next to HOT image (in the red circle area). thanks |
Background
The Stats browser has no social media share button so contributor couldn't share the Stats of the Tasking Manager progress. However by sharing the Stats the networks can see the progress. Sharing mechanism through Social media potential to boost network interest and reach more contributors.
Propose Solution
Make a Stats sharing mechanism through available Social Media platforms straight from Stats Web Browser.
