What operating system are you using?

macOS

Operating System Version

macOS Sonoma 14.7.1

Problem description

I use the "multiple desktop"/Spaces feature of macOS a lot, and on my work laptop, I have 5 desktops active. But, my "primary" desktop is desktop 3, i.e., "the middle one".

However, whenever Stretchly activates, when it's done, it always puts me back on desktop 1.

Possible solution

It would be nice for Stretchly to either:

  1. Allow a user to pick the desktop which Stretchly will return to when done
  2. Remember what desktop it was on when it activated and then return to that one when done

Alternative solutions

A clear and concise description of what you want to happen.

Hi, do you use fullscreen break?

I do! I guess I've always used that as a way to force me to stop :)

Ah OK :)

The only way i can interact with desktop/workspace with Electron (the stack I use) for me is to set "show on all workspaces", which I set to true, but I think it either doesn't work or is buggy. Or maybe it does not work for fullscreen. I even tell OS to go back to previous app, but I guess it also not work that well.

If I remember correctly, the workaround would be to not use fullscreen and then you can set windows to be bigger via advanced preferences (https://github.com/hovancik/stretchly?tab=readme-ov-file#advanced-preferences): https://github.com/hovancik/stretchly?tab=readme-ov-file#break-window-size-

Ahh. Okay. I set those to 0.99 and moved to use windowed mode and that seems to do what I like.

Thanks!
