Windows

Operating System Version

Windows 11

Problem description

When on a Teams or Zoom call, the camera is operating or screen is shared by me, Stretchly pops up its full screen reminders to have a break.

This is disruptive to work, especially when most meetings go for 30 mins, and the short breaks are 20 mins

Yes you could go an click "Pause breaks", however it would be better if Stretchly detected that the device was on a call and automatically paused breaks (as an on/off preference).

Possible solution

Stretchly detects that the device is on an active call, and automatically pauses all breaks

Hello @caleb-nintex,

I have just read the Advanced Preferences readme (https://github.com/hovancik/stretchly#advanced-preferences).

Maybe check this section here?

@JThyroff: This could help with Zoom, but not so much with Microsoft Teams (for most users).

Thank you for reporting @caleb-nintex
I agree that Stretchly can do better, but I don't think it should simply pause. It should rather become more subtle/cautious, warning or prompting rather than automatically starting a break. If someone is on a non-urgent call with a single colleague, taking a break may still be warranted.

This is what I believe should be other way around: Teams/Skype/Whatever app should have option to Turn on "Do Not Disturb" mode and then other apps like Stretchly can follow that. It's not humanly possible to figure out how many different apps do meetings and support it.

The closest possible solution could be detecting camera/mic, but then, you don't know which app uses it. #969
