file.
2012-06-17 Kleene is not currently running on Windows.
2014-04-19 Kleene is still not running under Windows. Just OS X and
Linux.
=========================================================
1) Install the Java runtime environment(from http://www.java.com/)
This page will first determine the recommended version for your operating system.
Then click-select the option to install. The resulting jre6 should end up in
C:\Program Files\Java\
2) To set environment variables,
Right click on the main "My Computer" or "Computer" icon.
Choose "Properties" from the context menu
Click the "Advanced" tab ("Advanced system settings" in Vista)
Click the "Environment Variables" button
Under "User Variables" click "New" to add an environment variable.
Enter the name of the variable in the "Variable name" field
Enter the path in the "Variable value" field
Add the following:
JAVA_HOME
C:\Program Files\Java\jre6
CLASSPATH
.
(Note that the . designates the "current directory".)
If you already have an environment variable named PATH, add %JAVA_HOME%\bin
Else add
PATH
%JAVA_HOME%\bin
3) Install dot (from http://www.graphviz.org/): graphviz-2.26.3.msi
o Double-click on the Graphviz installer and follow instructions (default settings are fine)
4) Install Kleene: kleene-win-w.x.y.z.zip , where w.x.y.z indicates the version number,
e.g. kleene-win-0.9.0.21.zip (this is the "zip file").
o Unzip the build package to a directory of your choice.
You can put the build package anywhere really. To put it in
C:\Program Files\Kleene\
Open the "My Computer" or "Computer" icon.
Double click on the C: drive
Double click on the "Program Files" directory.
Right click to create a new directory named "Kleene"
Then drag the zip files into this new Kleene directory.
Right click on the zip file and unzip it.
o Open a DOS shell and cd to the root directory of your Kleene installation
e.g.
cd C:\Program Files\Kleene\kleene-win-0.9.0.21
dir
(The dir command should display contents including Kleene.jar and
a directory named "dotkleene".)
o Issue the command: xcopy dotkleene <HOME>\.kleene /S /E
where <HOME> is:
o Windows XP: C:\Documents and Settings\<YOUR_SAP_I_NUMBER>
o Windows Vista: C:\Users\<YOUR_SAP_I_NUMBER>
o Open the file <HOME>\.kleene\prefs.xml, check the values of dotpath and viewer
in the windows section, and update them if necessary. (Update the <user>
values rather than the <default> values. The <user> values have precedence.)
o Right-click on the Kleene.jar file and create a Shortcut. Optionally, drag
the shortcut to your desktop.
5) Run Kleene
A. Command-line approach:
o Open a DOS shell and cd to the root directory of your Kleene installation
e.g.
cd C:\Program Files\Kleene\kleene-win-0.9.0.21
o Issue the command: java -jar Kleene.jar
B. Easy option (if you created the Shortcut)
o Double-click the Shortcut
Optional:
5) Install the Kleene runtime: KleeneRt-win-0.9.0.16.zip
o Unzip the build package to a directory of your choice
NOTE:
If you get an "UnsatisfiedLinkError" when running Kleene, copy the following to
the root directory of your Kleene installation and try again:
\\Usjhy001\inx-boston\phil\Microsoft.VC80.CRT.manifest
\\Usjhy001\inx-boston\phil\msvcm80.dll
\\Usjhy001\inx-boston\phil\msvcp80.dll
\\Usjhy001\inx-boston\phil\msvcr80.dll
