In the public app, http://app.annotationstudio.org/documents/lincoln-at-gettysburg--2 is assigned to two classes: exp201.007 and exp201.017. For the Class exp201.007, the annotation sidebar does not expand--clicking on the annotations in the sidebar does nothing, they will not expand. Interestingly, this is not an issue for the other class, exp201.017, assigned to the document.

The console is spitting this out-- @jamiefolsom any clues off the bat for this bug? I'll follow the trail and see if I can fix it at least temporarily.
These four annotations were made by a student who just highlighted a single empty space (e.g. between sentences) to make an annotation. It looks like annotations on blank space might trip up the annotator, as the same thing is happening on my local machine. For now I can change the highlight on these 4 annotations to span 2 characters, so that all the annotations load normally.
Even after deleting the offending annotations, the "Cannot read property 'replace' of null" error persists. It doesn't point to anywhere helpful in the code. Could it have to do with Backbone sync? How can we reset?
Null annotations are a known issue in the Annotator I believe. I will look for the relevant issue. Our issue may be resolved if/when we upgrade. It should not break the whole experience when one annotation contains whitespace only, or nothing.
