Google Drive for Mac not working, any workaround? #183

I'm having the same issue in VirtualBuddy 1.2.2 (macOS 13.5 host), running on a 2021 MacBook Pro Max running macOS 13.5. I'm also getting the same issue in a 13.5 UTM Virtual Machine as well, however. So it might be a Google Drive issue, and not a VB issue? UPDATE: This is also happening in Parallels 18 VMs as well. |

It's an issue with Electron apps and gpu acceleration. I installed GDrive to see if I could fix your issue by launching with '--args --disable-gpu' , but it didnt. When I launch GDrive with the options listed here, it opens up terminal and spits out a bunch of stuff, including the line 'disable_gpu: false' :(. utmapp/UTM#3692 |

If you're experiencing issues with the Google Drive app not working in a virtual macOS machine, one workaround is to use https://cloudmounter.net/mount-google-drive.html. It lets you mount Google Drive as a local drive directly on your Mac, making it accessible without needing the Google Drive desktop client. This way, you can manage and access your files without relying on the app's functionality in the virtual environment. |

Hi. I'm writing to ask if anyone has been able to make the Google Drive for Mac desktop app work within a VirtualBuddy-hosted macOS virtual machine. Both the menubar item's dropdown, and the login window, come up blank for me. This has been true in both Ventura and Sonoma developer beta 1 virtual machines, on a Mac Studio running Ventura.
Any tips appreciated. Thank you.
