macOS 15 failing to Install

Hi Team,

I am running macOS 14 on an M1 Pro and want to build a macOS 15.0 VM. I have installed XCode16 but when I start the install process for the VM it gets about 1/5 complete before failing. I get no messages in the logs or any error codes, it just fails. macOS 13 and 14 VMs install fine just 15 doesn't.

Hi, thanks for reporting.

Unfortunately the logs are only collected if the logging panel is expanded before the issue occurs. Can you try again and open the logging panel in the installation window right as installation begins? That way we should be able to see some logs and figure out what's happening.

So I tried that this morning but no logs came out again. However, I suspected it was my work VPN causing the problem so I ran the installer at home with my wifi and after three attempts it installed. Weird that OS13 and 14 install fine but 15 needed a clean wifi connection.

When installing macOS15, I noticed that my active network connection dropped in and out. Well, I get the pop-up saying "XXX Is disabled" then immediately enabled or messages about having duplicate Thunderbolt ethernet connections etc. IDK if this is intentional or a known issue but I am putting it out there.
