We are using the Kalam font for our interactive algebra notation at https://graspablemath.com and we – and our users – love it! One of our goals is to make algebra less scary for students, and the friendly, personal feeling of Kalam is a great fit for that! Here is an example:
The problem we are now running into is that there are many characters that are not supported in Kalam. Examples are greek letters or ∓. Another problem is how easily some characters are confused with each other: #3.
Does anybody have an idea how we could go about adding more glyphs or glyph variants to the font?

We ended up making the following modifications to the font:

(We did drop characters from languages we didn't need for our context to keep the file size small.)
