While pre-precessing the curated M12 data, I found that one file was broken.
The file sub-cal119_ses-M12_T2star.nii.gz is broken:

  • we cannot extract the data doing file.get_fdata()
  • it cannot be opened in FSLeyes

Opening this issue to reference the problem and to come up with a solution.
