Feature Request: Use Motion/Occupancy Detector for Screen Saver Wake #327

Perhaps this already exists and I'm just missing it. Is there a way to use a normal motion or occupancy detector configured in Home Assistant as the screen saver wake trigger rather than a camera's motion? I'm using touchscreen monitors without cameras as my wall dashboard screens and would love to be able to wake the screen savers with the motion detector that I have in the room.

I have the same question.

I'm using an external motion sensor to enable the screen on my tablet when a motion is detected in the room. It will show my screensaver on my tablet. Now I want to disable the screensaver when a motion is detected from my tablet camera, so just when I'm really nearby.

I saw that there is already an option "camera_motion_detection_enabled" but it doesn't seem to work. Where can I define which camera / sensor should be used?

Thank you so much!

Yes, im having the same concern. I enable motion detection, but having an error in the browser saying it cannot find camera device. I'm using Wallpanel with FullyKiosk and Lenovo Tab M10 HD. Wondering what I should enable for this builtin motion detection to work.
Found a workaround that is using FullyKiosk integration with Home Assistant and to have an automation to touch the screen to deactivate Wallpanel, but would prefer to use the builtin functionnality.
Anyone else found a way? Thanks

You can use the screen saver input_boolean entity for that, and have the screen be woken by a sensor/condition of your choice. Fully Kiosk is not really needed for this.
