Shortcut typed but no symbol replacing it

I'm trying to replace :ss: with ß and :SS: with ẞ, so I typed :ss: into the type field of my card (I am studying a set where you can type in the answer), but ß didn't replace it. I made sure that I had added the shortcut to the addon and also tested other preloaded shortcuts for different symbols. I restarted the app and it still didn't work. I'm on Anki Version ⁨2.1.54. I'm on Windows 10 Pro 21H2 and my system language is EN_gb. Other installed addons:
