I may have discovered the issue while trying to manually install teamviewer. It appears the apt source list entry incorrectly specifies 'arch=amd64'. After editing the file for 'arch=armhf' and again running sudo apt update, all the errors associated with [weak] checksums disappear. sudo apt install teamviewer then successfully installs the package. Back to install_and_upgade,sh and that completes without error. Hopefully this saves someone some headaches.
