Maybe an option to use a USB WiFi for the AP and leave the built-in WiFi for client mode? This might be better since the built-in WiFi range isn't great anyway.
I mostly use the tool on the zero Ws and adding usb wifi would be unwise in terms of power draw and more. The usb OTG using a standard usb 2.0 is gold so far.
It would have been perfect that for the cases where hardware allows it, rogueportal would work as AP and Wifi client simultaneously.
This repo talks about such a possibility on Raspberry Pi 3+ but with the use of hostapd which rogueportal ommits from using which I think is great.
Anyways, if you ever wonder what challenge to solve next - retaining wifi connection while "up"in the AP would be a sweet addition to the tool.
