Devices are not named correctly per JSON

Despite using a Devices section in the JSON which includes a name that is copied directly from the Vue app in the order they were added (JSON below) I do not get device names in the graphs, only a number as seen in the screen shot. I am sure this is me, but not sure what I did or how to fix it.

According to your screenshot the device name is "House Right Panel", but you typed "Right Panel" in the JSON file.

Thanks, I'll try that, I didnt realize the Panel name had to match as well. Do I need to purge the DB? Or will the grafana data update?

I think you misread the documentation. The device (aka Panel as you called it) names must match. The channel names do not have to match but need to be in order.

The old data will remain as-is. So if you want to get rid of it you will need to purge the DB, or set the reset: flag to true. Be sure to change it back to false after Vuegraf starts, otherwise every time you restart Vuegraf it will wipe the data.

Thank you, yes, I interpreted that backwards when I read it.

Resetting the database provides the following in the console, and grafana shows no data, however once it updates a few times in the vuegraf console then grafana shows the same names again.

The log looks good. Did you reload Grafana? Perhaps it's caching the data. If that's not it, try deleting the entire InfluxDB and let Vuegraf recreate it.

Deleted the database and created a new database with a different name, restarted vuegraf. Same issue. Channel names are all DeviceName-#.

And you corrected the JSON device names to match exactly "House Left Panel" and "House Right Panel"?

Yep, I even checked for trailing spaces in the Vue app config. Going to tear it all down today and start again, at a loss...

Can you post your full JSON file? It's acting like it can't find the devices block and I'm wondering if you may have placed it in the wrong location in the JSON config. Make sure you alter the user, host, email and password fields for security reasons.

Nuked docker containers, setup from scratch, same JSON, now it's working. Not sure what was caching, but grafana dashboard shows channel names now. Thanks very much for the help on this. Where can I contribute some $ to your effort?
