Can I get and share a link to directly open a diagram on a confluence page in edit mode?

Use case: "Zoom into a diagram" from another page.

I want to be able to share and publish a link which opens a diagram on a confluence page in edit mode, directly.

Is this possible today? I cant seem to remember or find out how.

Directly into edit isn't possible, edit mode is an overlay on the page, there isn't a unique URL.

1. Yes, edit mode. I would like for us to be able to share a link with colleagues that directly takes them to a diagram canvas where they can collaborate. Similar to experience of e g miro and excalidraw, which are the primary contenders in this space being used in our organisation.

Edit mode of the diagram.

So, one link that will open the diagram / canvas in edit mode to allow participants to collaborate without any further clicks.

I guess it is a rather slight change to the user experience, but it removes the need to wait for the page to visualize, find the diagram, hover to identify the edit button and click that edit button.

Edit mode of the diagram isn't possible with a URL. That's the way confluence is architected. There needs to be a user driven macro edit event within confluence to start macro editing.

The reason miro can do it (I haven't looked at the excalidraw integration) is that they are a remotely embedded frame that does it's versioning outside of confluence. They don't need to start macro editing.

Ah, ok, I see. Again, thanks for looking into this.

(and to be clear, I actually did not mean miro / excalidraw in confluence, per se. I meant in general. AFAIK we dont integrate either of those two products in confluence - although I am aware that there are confluence extensions for it).
