Possible methods:

Install light-tight curtains immediately inside the light-tight door, to create a dark antechamber.
Build a couple of walls to create an "S" shaped entrance that blocks light rays from entering

We decided to go with the first option listed above, except we're building walls to create the dark antechamber, instead of just curtains.

Walls and door have been installed.

To do: The ceiling bit needs to be covered, and the door closing mechanism installed.
