M600 issues

Having issues and have some observations with M600.

1. M600 does a 5mm retract before moving back to the saved position. This should probably be configurable. I've gotten a few jams because this number is way too large for my setup.
2. I'm using M600 for a multicolor print, and after I resume, it's touching off on the part, THEN going to my purge block. This is creating little dribbles on my part. I know the retract is there. I even let the nozzle ooze out for a few seconds, wipe it, then hit resume. Still getting some dribbles. It would be ideal if I could either have a configuration variable to NOT resume XY, or a parameter to M600 to not resume/save XY.
3. What's the difference between M600 and M702? They seem identical in function, unless I'm missing something. Both seem to park, pause and unload.
