Live programming (WIP)

I'm working on some tools for Emacs that allow live programming for JSCL via WebSockets.

I guess emacs is the websocket server and JSCL connects to it. Clever!

Yes, something new. It'd be great to just do it via Swank/SLIME, but this is a separate project of mine, to allow interactive programming for every language, more generic. JSCL is one of the "backends" I'm targeting.

I also have a browser for packages in the making. The more documented functions, the more effective the tool is.

Is there a way that the jscl license can be changed to something non viral. GPL is not freedom for programming tools ever. Privately happy to discuss if you can't see why.

Once you go mit/bsd there is no point in dual licensing nor can I see a reason in doing it.

Your insist mit/bsd.
Your arguments compared to mit/apach2?

I don't insist on any, although I prefer mit/bsd as no legal strings attached.
Dual licensing means you pick what you want in the end, so if you can pick mit/bsd instead of apache2 why would you bother offering it as an option. "Here have my pie for free no strings attached, but if you want I can add some red tape?" doesn't make sense.

@davazp is there something I can do to help push this along towards a non (L)GPL license? I would really like to consider using this with my CLOG project in the future.

I created #453 to keep track of the approvals.

Please comment to give your approval. I'll work to try to find github usernames of most of them and update the issue description so they get notifications.

After that we can ping a few more probably.
